The Pioneer RT-2022: 2-Track 2-Channel Reel to Reel Tape Recorder (1976-1980)
The Pioneer RT-2022 is a professional open reel tape system. Features include 2-tracks, 2 channels, 3 motors, a capstan drive, 38 and 19 cm/sec speeds, a separate read unit and separate record and playback amplifiers.
The Pioneer RT-2022 and Pioneer RT-2044 are semiprofessional tape recorders and the most expensive open reel decks Pioneer ever made. They definitely sound better than an RT-909 or RT-707 but have a slightly lower signal-to-noise ratio. The head assemblies were interchangeable.
