On this CD, you will find an old analogue nine-track recording from Rosa King who has lived in Holland for a very long time.
Rosa Irene King was an American jazz- and blues saxophonist and singer who was born in Amsterdam and has recorded a large number of albums under different labels. Rosa King was a mother figure for many young female jazz artists such as the trumpet player Saskia Laroo and saxophonist Candy Dulfer. Her game was rough, unpolished and original. Her vocals were compelling, pure and with her own blues sound.
